Invasive Weed Control
With invasive plants becoming a multi-billion dollar a year problem in California alone, detection of high priority species requires an immediate and effective response. If you are dealing with Arundo, Tree Of Heaven, Tamarisk, Yellow Star Thistle, Artichoke Thistle, or Scotch Broom (to name a few.) Jerah Frye Native Habitat Restoration offers a systematic and thorough approach to control, including the most effective up to date methods combined with ideal timing. We will always offer chemical free and IPM options when feasible or requested, and when applying herbicides all precautions are taken to protect native plant and animal habitat as well as use the lowest effective dose of chemicals in the most effective manner. Most of our treatment options will combine chemical, physical, and cultural controls and we are happy to provide landowners with best management practices that they can utilize after we have completed treatment.
Tree Removal and Defensible Space Clearing
Jerah Frye Native Habitat Restoration offers a cost effective and low impact approach to forest thinning, post fire tree removal, and defensible space clearing. By minimizing disturbance of topsoil and low growing vegetation we are able to preserve the natural potential for erosion control, complete initial operations at a reduced cost, and require a minimum amount of erosion control work at the end of your project. Under our Timber Operators License we are able to file Cal-Fire exemptions to get your project underway quickly and can contract with a Registered Professional Forester to evaluate your site when needed. In addition our staff has experience identifying protected plants and animals, and coordinates work schedules according to nesting seasons of raptors and other sensitive species. When clearing is complete we can haul brush and debris off site, or we can chip on site and process logs into firewood leaving you with a marketable product that you can use to offset costs.
